UK - The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals have been urged to withdraw its Freedom Food accreditation from a range of Scottish farmed salmon following allegations that the company had killed seals at its fish farm.

According to reports in the Aberdeen Press and Journal, Animal Concern has written to the RSPCA to ask that the Freedom Food label be removed from the Marine Harvest fish.

The Norwegian company owns a salmon farm at Loch Torridon in Wester Ross will produce salmon caught and reared to strict RSPCA welfare standards for the supermarket giant, Sainsbury.
