Value of Catch 30.1 billion ISK in the First Two Months of 2012

ICELAND - Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to 30.1 billion ISK in January-February 2012, compared with 23.5 billion ISK in the first two months of 2011.

Total value increased therefore by 28.1 per cent between years.

Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 17 billion; thereof cod ISK 9.8 billion, haddock 2.8 billion, and redfish 2.5 billion. Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 11 billion and flatfish catches for 1.9 billion
