Suspected Pancreas Disease in Nord-Trondelag

19 December 2014, at 12:00am

NORWAY - A suspected outbreak of Pancreas Disease (PD) has been reported on a Sal Mar salmon farm in Flatanger municipality in Nord-Trndelag.

If the suspicion is confirmed and there is no suspicion of PD at sites in other parts of the area, the infected locality will be emptied as quickly as possible. This will also apply to neighboring locality 12633 Lyrneset located very close, operated together with Flotaren and which belong to the same owner.

This is in accordance with current strategy for PD control.

PD has previously been detected in Nord-Trøndelag, Nordland and Troms.
