SLOVENIA - Statistics Slovenia reports that Slovenian fish farms produced 1,120 tons of freshwater fish in 2005, 13.6 per cent lower as compared with the previous year.

Production of coldwater fish such as rainbow trout fell last year because of the availability of cheaper fish from other European Union states.

A total of 223 people were employed at Slovenian freshwater fish farms in 2005, with most of these employees working part-time.
