CHILE - The National Fisheries and Aquaculture department has established zoning of 5 nautical miles around the fish farm recently confirmed with Infectious Salmon Anaemia (ISA).

The measure is part of the protocols for the Monitoring and Control of this disease.

Enhanced biosafety measures have also been applied to farms located inside this radius. These measures include:

• Sampling for ISA every 15 days.
• Restriction of collection.
• Prohibition of planting new farms with Atlantic salmon in the area.

National Director of Sernapesca, Juan Luis Ansoleaga, added that: "The Service has strengthened surveillance and control in the area, enhancing health campaigns to monitor the status of ISA, conduct inspections at processing plants and stockpiles and satellite monitoring of well boats."
