Seminar in Nigeria teaches wealth creation through fish farming

NIGERIA - The Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR), Victoria Island, Lagos, in its capacity as the foremost fish research institute has, as part of its mandate, continued to highlight the need to use aquaculture to jumpstart wealth creation among investors.

This is in light of the huge gap between fish demand and supply that resulted in $1.55 million (about N212m) worth of fish import in a single month.

Therefore, NIOMR in collaboration with Entrepreneurship and Training Limited (ETL), Lagos have concluded arrangement to train investors, retirees, those diversifying their income base and interested members of the public in the production of Catfish using the Water Re-circulation Aquaculture System (WRAS) on the 10th and 11th August, 2005 at the Institute.
