The PES team was designed to streamline operating processes using lean and six-sigma techniques to improve profitability within the processing sector. So far, the service has resulted in some very significant cost savings and efficiency increases for participating companies, achieving £6 million identified savings to date and £1.6 million realized savings to date.
Gillian MacLeod and Richard Neligan, who form the PES team, are looking forward to working closely with various staff members across Seafish departments, who will assist them in delivering the popular Process Excellence Service to Seafish customers.
“This move offers an exciting opportunity for our team to explore the potential of working in different sectors of the seafood industry to see if our service can provide value to them and develop closer working relationships with the Commercial team and their clients,” commented Gillian MacLeod.
This move will enable the PES team to work closely with the Commercial team to promote and deliver the Process Excellence Service in an effective way and work with different sectors of the seafood industry, including import and export companies, processors and distributors. The Process Excellence Service will also continue to form a major part of the Business Improvement Group.
Chris Stevens, the Commercial team manager said: “The Process Excellence Service was developed by our Economics department and has resulted in some very significant cost savings and efficiency increases for participating companies. The move to our Commercial team provides an opportunity to market this service to a wide variety of businesses through our national network of account managers."
Free business reviews with the PES team can be arranged through the Commercial team.
