The regulation stipulates a ban on fishing for sandeel in the Norwegian economic zone.
The Institute of Marine Research has so far not recommended a withdrawal of sandeels in 2013. Such a recommendation is expected to be in the January/February 2013.
Fisheries and Coastal Affairs will determine a final regulation on fishing for sandeel in 2013 when it receives scientific advice from the Institute of Marine Research and the EU negotiations are concluded.
