Nigeria Trains Women on Aquaculture and Fisheries Development

NIGERIA - Over 100 women in Niger state have been trained in aquaculture and fisheries development as part of the Agriculture Transformation Agenda (ATA) of the Federal Government.

Senior Technical Assistant to the Minister, Alhaji Hassan Usman Ibrahim said the Agricultural Transformation Agenda had targeted certain commodities and crops to be utilised in actualization of its objectives, using the value chain approach, DailyTimes reports.

“In line with ATA and the passion of the Minister,empowering women with right skills to key in to the Programme provided the opportunity for women and youths for the development of agricultural business,and wealth creation in the state.”

“With the training, we are looking towards maximizing output in fisheries development,empowerment of women and actualizing food security.”
