With the participation of the Technological University of Mar de Tamaulipas Bicentennial and the Center for Biological Research of the Northwest (CIBNOR), the body of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA) has completed operational testing of such devices reservoirs in Sinaloa, Sonora and Hidalgo
At these sites, explorations and aquatic exercises measuring environmental variables (depth, oxygen levels, nitrites and nitrates, etc) were conducted.
The operation of these high-tech equipment to measure chemical, physical and microbiological water variables, will determine if the water quality is acceptable for aquaculture, therefore identifying suitable sites.
Another benefit of using these technology platforms is that they may obtain latest information about the qualities of aquaculture resources and updated profiles of ocean currents.
