This instrument is already active in 10 vessels over 10 units of gross tonnage.
The new beacon system allows the vessels to be monitored, preventing crimes such as drug trafficking or gasoline.
All this can be achieved thanks to the small device measuring 11 cm wide by 14 cm, that has a satellite antenna emitting the position of the vessel, which is sent to the Data Center of CANTV.
Among the data handled by the instrument are the sailing route and arrival of the ship, the speed and distance of travel and stops of the ship at sea.
It also has a panic button, a signal search and rescue and a button for reporting the innocent passage into prohibited waters for fishing or out of bounds areas.
The hardware also has the ability to issue three position reports every 20 minutes and send a warning signal when the power supply is interrupted.
