Eightyfour per cent of the Mexican production was provided by the maritime fleet, while the remaining percentage was generated by aquaculture.

In the National Fish Production report, the federal agency points out that Pacific coasts accounted for 83.11 per cent of production, the Gulf and Mexican Caribbean 14.4 per cent and inland waters 2.49 per cent.
