Moreover, in a statement about consumer preferences for products, aquaculture and fisheries projects director IPSOS-BIMSA, Hugo Lopez, called for increasing knowlege about the benefits of shrimp to the consumer as curently, Mexican consumers know little about shrimp.

MEXICO - Climate change has brought about more bad weather, affecting the economy of food producers. The National Commission of Aquaculture and Fisheries (CONAPESCA) has stated that more fish farmers, especially shrimp farmers, need to be insured in order to protect themselves against the impacts of climate change.
