For vessels operating outside of producer organisations quotas are set by the MMO’s Fisheries Management Team in the form of monthly and sometimes quarterly catch limits. The MMO seek to set these limits after discussing fishing needs with local fishermen around the country.

North East meetings (covering fishing fleets from Berwick to Skipsea) are as follows:

  • Wednesday 22 January 2014: The Harbour Café, West Pier, Scarborough, 3:30pm – 5:30pm
  • Thursday 23 January 2014: Borough Hall, The Headland, Hartlepool, 2:00pm – 3:30pm
  • Thursday 23 January 2014: The Community Enterprise Centre, Ridley St, Blyth, 5:30pm – 7:00pm

If you are unable to attend but would still like to pass on your ideas please contact the MMO Fisheries Management Team via email catchlimits@marinemanagement.org.uk or call 0300 123 1032.

Another series of meetings for fishermen located between Kings Lynn and Ramsgate is being organised for the following week. If you would like to attend please contact the MMO and they will notify you of the nearest venue and dates.
