Lagos stresses need for maintenance of Ikorodu fish farm

LAGOS - Lagos State Government has stressed the need for the maintenance and sustenance of the Ikorodu fish farm, set up to produce thousands of catfish for consumption in the state.

Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Olufemi Pedro made the remarks while representing Governor Bola Tinubu during an inspection visit to Ikorodu Fish Farm Estate as part of assessment visit to ascertain the level of development in the estate.

He enjoined allottees of the farm estate to maintain the structure as strictly fish farm estate and not to turn it to residential buildings.

Mr. Pedro urged other businessmen in the estate to take full advantage of the scheme and acquire their own plots without delay in order to be part of the future benefits.

He therefore, directed the Ministry of Rural Development to conduct an assessment of the estate such that adequate electrification and road network would be provided as quickly as possible.
