FAI Aquaculture Ardtoe has been testing the sensor to detect and monitor a wide range of persistent organic pollutants and pharmaceutical compounds, especially Pharmaceutical and Personal Care Products (PPCPs) and pesticides.
The equipment is especially useful as the data is highly reliable and the system logs continuously for up to 21 days.
The sensor has been developed by a group of companies working in an Eco-Innovation Initiative of the EU. Further information is available at http://www.cfis-ecopharma.com/
If you would like to learn more about the sensor and its trial results, a short seminar and demonstration of the equipment will be provided at Ardtoe (just over 1 hour from Fort William) on the following dates from 11 am to 2 pm:
- 17th August
- 23rd August
- 31st August
The equipment will be shown in situ in recording mode in seawater tanks and the procedure for retrieving the filters and sending these to the laboratory for analyses will be demonstrated.
A sandwich lunch will be provided.
If you would like to attend one of these demonstrations please contact:
