Decrease in Total Value of Icelandic Catch

ICELAND - Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to 69.5 billion ISK in January-May 2013, compared with 71.3 billion ISK in the first five months of 2012. Total value decreased therefore by 2.6 per cent between years, according to Statistics Iceland.

Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 43 billion; thereof cod ISK 21.7 billion, haddock 5.8 billion, and redfish 6.5 billion.

Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 19.2 billion and flatfish catches for 4.3 billion.
