The average wholesale prices of meat edged up, with pork, beef and mutton gaining 0.4 per cent, 0.5 per cent and 0.9 per cent respectively, the ministry said.
The average prices of aquatic products went up 0.3 per cent, while the cost of eggs remained flat from a week earlier.
The prices of 18 kinds of vegetables continued to drop last week, down 0.5 per cent from a week earlier, the MOC said Food accounts for about one third of China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation.
The CPI grew 3.2 per cent year on year in October, up from 3.1 per cent in September, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
