Changes to Red Snapper and Grouper-Tilefish Quota Regulations

US - NOAA Fisheries has announced a new rule, effective October 27, 2014, which makes changes to the Gulf of Mexico reef fish fishery.

The final rule published in the Federal Register on September 26, 2014 (79 FR 57830). The rule includes administrative revisions to the commercial red snapper and grouper-tilefish Individual Fishing Quota (IFQ) programmes that improve enforcement, monitoring, and administration, and clarifies existing regulatory requirements.

The final rule makes numerous changes to requirements for landing notifications, offloading, landing transactions, and administrative changes.
