Canada Closes North Beds for Mussel Harvesting

CANADA - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, is warning the public on the North Shore that the gathering of mussels is prohibited on all North Shore shellfish beds.

According to them, this clams can still be harvested in certain areas

The Department, whose mandate is to protect and conserve fishery resources, says it is ever vigilant in its efforts to prevent shellfish harvesting in closed areas and to protect public health.
