This fishery was temporarily closed on 26 August, reserving a quota for the end of the year, when the species has greater commercial value around Christmas.

The fishery has now reopened (25 November 2013), with the remaining reserved quota offered by the Community regulation by transferring a percentage of the share that Spain has in the Gulf of Cadiz, leaving the fishery of Great Sun and Cantabrian share available to end of the year of 24.73 mt.
