Bente E Torstensen

Bente holds the responsibility for research and innovation of aquaculture and production of seafood at Nofima. Her division’s research covers the whole value chain and has the infrastructure to deliver research-based knowledge in fish nutrition, fish welfare, fish health, breeding, genetics, production biology, farming in new production systems, farming of new species and coexistence.

She has a PhD degree from the University of Bergen and NIFES in fish nutrition and 20 years of work experience in NIFES, where she worked as a researcher, senior researcher, research director for human nutrition and research director for fish nutrition. She also has experience from Mowi as team leader for fish feed for Global R&D. She is board member of EAS (European Aquaculture Society) and the HAV portfolio in the Research Council of Norway.
