Women in seafood: call for video entries

Competitions

The International Association for Women in the Seafood Industry (WSI), is encouraging more entries for the organisation’s annual video contest.

The competition, developed with the support of the French Development Agency (AFD) and Matis, the Icelandic R&D company, seeks to highlight the contribution of women in the seafood industry.

Last year's winning entry, “The Women of Petatan”, by Ms Carmen Pedroza Gutiérrez

The competition is open to individuals of both sexes, collectives, institutions and schools. Films must be under four minutes and can describe the life of women in any segment of the seafood industry (fishing, seafood farming, processing, trading, managing and all related activities, including teaching/ training).

There are categories – one for under and one for over 25s – and both winners will receive a €1,000 prize.

You can watch the 2017 films here: http://womeninseafood.com/vide...

Entries should be sent to wsi-video@matis.is by 31 August and the winners will be announced in late September 2018.
