May feed delivered to Mississippi catfish growers for foodsize fish totaled 49,783 tons, up 31 percent from last year and accounted for 49 percent of the total foodsize catfish feed delivered to U.S. farmers.
Foodsize catfish feed delivered totalled 102,175 tons, up 27 percent from the corresponding month a year ago. Feed delivered for fingerlings and broodfish totaled 4,686 tons, up 47 percent from the corresponding month a year ago.
The other major States with catfish feed deliveries for foodsize fish in May and their comparison to the previous year were: Alabama with 23,384 tons, up 14 percent; Arkansas with 21,021 tons, up 44 percent; and Louisiana with 2,602 tons, down 8 percent.
