Aquaculture for all

Twinning project with Spain

MALTA - The Rural Affairs and the Environment Ministry is working with Spains Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Ministry on associations of producers in the fisheries sector. The aim is to set up such associations in Malta.

The plan is being financed by the European Union, was launched in January and should be concluded in July. Spanish experts are visiting Malta, for talks with officials from the Fisheries and Aquaculture Division, with members of the two fishermen’s cooperatives, and with the directors of fish farms, to explain how such associations operate, the advantages they bring, EU legislation regulating them, and aid available from the EU.
