Total Value of Catch Increased by 9.5 Per Cent

ICELAND - Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to 108.6 billion ISK in January-August 2012, compared with 99.2 billion ISK in the first eight months of 2011, according to Statistics Iceland.

Total value increased therefore by 9.5 per cent between years.

Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 63.8 billion; thereof cod ISK 32.5 billion, haddock 8.5 billion, and redfish 9.1 billion.

Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 32.8 billion and flatfish catches for 7.6 billion.
