Thai shrimp farmers plea for scrutiny of Australian aquaculture products

THAILAND - The Thai Marine Shrimp Farmers' Association has called on the Fishery Department to implement Import Risk Analysis (IRA) on aquaculture products imported from Australia to prevent GAV and MoV viruses from spreading in the Kingdom, reports The Nation.

The association fears that the viruses will spread to shrimp farms in the Kingdom, affecting exports of an average of Bt80 billion in foreign exchange per year and more than a million jobs.
