SOUTH KOREA - Exports of food to the EU surged in the first quarter of this year, with fish shipments more than doubled.

South Korea's exports of foodstuffs to the European Union (EU) soared in the first quarter from a year earlier amid their growing popularity there, a local trade has said.

Yonhap reports that shipments of fish, including mackerel, jumped 134.6 per cent on-year to over US$21 million in the January-March period, with exports of farm products rising 65.7 per cent to $1.72 million, according to the Korea International Trade Association (KITA).
