AUSTRALIA - New figures show that the aquaculture industry in South Australia is generating more than half of the State's seafood production value, earning $263 million annually at the farmgate.

This is a rise of 25 per cent from last financial year, according to the Department for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, a report on ABC says.

The fisheries department has forecast the sector will continue to grow, with abalone expected to be the strongest industry.
