Panama Bans Import of Live Shrimp

PANAMA - Panama has now banned the import of live shrimp from any countries affected by Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS).

Shrimp imports have been banned due to the threat of disease which has affected many shrimp farms in Asia.

Due to this, the National Director of Animal Health, Manuel Gonzalez Cano, said surveillance will be strengthened in all activities and components of shrimp farming in the country.
