The Tok Bali integrated fisheries park is a major component of the East Coast Economic Region (ECER)'s plans to develop Kelantan's fisheries industry.
A statement from the ECER secretariat Thursday said topics at the seminar to be held on Dec 1 and 2 by the Department of Fisheries Kelantan included the master plan on Tok Bali development, marketing and infrastructure facilities, and fish breeding and funding.
Tok Bali has potential to serve as a major aggregation point for the fisheries sector, including a large fish processing and trading base, according to the secretariat.
The main thrust of the development involves an integrated fisheries park that comprises a 400-metre wharf, offshore fishing platform, industrial processing facilities and commercial, business and logistics support infrastructure, the secretariat said.
It will also include a port and infrastructure of landing facilities, storage and processing and marketing of fish as well as ancillary support facilities like boat repair and engine maintenance workshops.
