The new provisions reduce from four to two and a half hours, the period for which the captain of the fishing vessel, or representative, informs the General Directorate of Control and Inspection on port arrival.
This modification, which is covered by a regulation of the European Commission, has been adopted after finding that the four-hour period was excessive, as the catches are made in areas that are less than four hours away from port.
