Necrotising Hepatopancreatitis Reported on Belize Fish Farm

BELIZE - An outbreak of Necrotising Hepatopancreatitis has been reported on a Belize shrimp farm.

The outbreak was reported in Placencia, Stann Creek, and effected Pacific white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei).

Of the 53,600 shrimp susceptible, 322 cases were reported.

The source of the outbreak is unknown.
