The property is located in the Science and Technology Park of Yucatan, in the town of Sierra Papacal, 17 kilometers from the city of Merida.
The center will facilitate the research activities of species with a potential for aquaculture.
Through the operation of this center, INAPESCA will promote research and technological innovation, in order to foster greater productivity and competitiveness of the national aquaculture sector, with an emphasis on the south-southeast.
This scientific space will feature highly technical facilities for the industrial production of seed and juveniles of various species of commercial interest.
The project also seeks to develop sustainability systems, such as recirculating water used in fish farms, for reuse in agricultural activities.
He explained that the water derived from aquaculture ponds is enriched with nutrients that can be used for the production of vegetables, hay or other agricultural product extraction.
It is expected that the construction work of the National Center for Technological Innovation and Development in Aquaculture will begin during the second half of this year.
