The first is for the So Francisco River Basin, the second for the Demersal Resources (fish that inhabit deeper waters) in the North and Northeast and the last for the Amazon Basin.

Each committee involves representatives from six ministries of the Federal Government, representatives of civil society organisations, industrial and artisanal fishermen, shipowners, to name a few.

There is also a structure composed of an advisory subcommittee for monitoring and scientific and technical councils.

All this effort is made towards making sure that the exploitation of resources is carried out in a sustainable manner to ensure the employment of millions of fishermen, ensure food security and ensure that future generations can enjoy the same as this.
