ISA Confirmed on Chile Salmon Farm

CHILE - An outbreak of Infectious Salmon Anaemia (ISA) has been confirmed on a Marine Harvest salmon farm in the Los Lagos region.

The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (Sernapesca) reported that the ISA variant HPR 14 outbreak was discovered during surveillance by the company.

The farm and surrounding sites will now be monitored by Sernapesca with those within the infected zone being sampled fortnightly.

The effected cage at the Marine Harvest farm has now been harvested whilst been overseen by Sernapesca officials, ensuring compliance with strict biosecurity measures.
