ISA Confirmed at Broodstock Facility in Nesset

NORWAY - The Norwegian Food Safety Authority has received test results from the Veterinary Institute confirming Infectious Salmon Anaemia (ISA) at at broodstock facility in Long Fjord, Nesset.

Samples were taken at the site in early May due to a moderate increase in mortality at the site.

At present there are around 10,000 broodstock of 15 kg.

A regulation zone is due to be enforced and the plant will be given cull orders.

The nearest commercial farm is approximately 25 km away and there is very little other farming-related activities in the area that will be included in Zone Regulations
