As the project's website states, the project, Fisch vom Kutter, is regional, seasonal, fair and sustainable.

This method of selling combats falling fish prices as it cuts out the middle man and is more attractive to consumers as the fish is cheaper that supermarket products and is guaranteed to be fresh.

This selling method involves the sending of a simple text message to their website whilst they are at sea which informs customers of their daily catch.

Customers can then meet the vessels at the port and buy their fish directly.

The project also hopes to revive the fishing sector as the number of fishermen in the area has plummeted over the years from 3000 to 58.
