Fish Farmers Agree To Work With Anglers

UK - The growing co-operation between angling organisations and fish farmers was underlined yesterday with the signing of two further local management agreements.

The new agreements cover Loch Ailort, west of Fort William, and the waters around Arran.
For decades anglers have blamed fish farmers for turning salmon and sea trout away from rivers and sea lochs but fish farmers argued that they were more important by providing employment in remote and fragile communities.

The aim of the local agreements is the maintenance of healthy stocks of both wild and farmed fish.
