Oysters Economics +4 more

AUSTRALIA - Fisheries are clamping down on oyster theft on the New South Wales south coast.

According to ABC Rural, a person was found with a large quantity of farmed oysters in the Tuross Region.

Tony Andrews, from the fisheries arm of Industry and Investment says this was part of "Operation Trident" which aims to stop oyster theft.

"Fisheries officers have actually apprehended someone late in the evening before midnight with quantities of oysters in their vessel."

"Those oysters were cultivated oysters, they weren't off the foreshore," he says.
