In this first installment there were seven boats and 16 engines delivered to fishermen thanks to an investment of 100 million pesos from the Fund for the Development of Artisanal Fisheries (FFPA).
On this occasion, 61 million pesos was also set aside for fishermen and organizations for the purchase and replacement of fishing gear lost during the tsunami.
This investment was made by the Fisheries Administration Fund (FAP) of the Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
Undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Raul Súnico, said: "We are fulfilling the commitment of President Bachelet and less than a month after the disaster we are already delivering the first boats, engines and fishing gear which will allow the recovery of operations for dozens of fishing families."
