Cermaq says merger talks ended with Aqua Chile

OSLO - Norwegian fish farming group Cermaq said on Monday merger talks had ended with the owners of Chilean company Empresas Aqua Chile.

"The discussions between Cermaq ASA and the owners of Empresas Aqua Chile S.A. about a possible transaction have been ended without results," Cermaq said in a statement, which provided no details or explanation.

Partly owned by the Norwegian state, Cermaq is the world's second-largest fish feed producer and among the biggest farmers of salmon and trout.
