The state Primary Industries Minister, Tim Mulherin, released figures showing almost $14 billion of produce will be generated this year.
Childers-based AAQ president Bruce Sambell told ABC News that this shows the industry has matured.
"I think it's a growing thing. Aquaculture in Queensland has been around for a few decades," he said.
"Now what you're seeing is a level of professionalism and good business practices, good environmental practices, built around a good market for their product."
