As part of a partnership between the ministries of Fisheries and Water Resources and Youth and Sports in 2011, an aquaculture project that will establish 10 fish ponds at the Nyani Berreh Farm in West Coast Region (WCR) is currently being implemented.

The project is expected to provide alternative sources of jobs for young people, especially those who cannot fish at sea, thus enhancing poverty eradication efforts, reports the Observer.
