Vietnam's Shrimp Exports to Japan Jump 25.2% - VIETNAM - Vietnam has exported around 34,652 tons of shrimp so far this year. The figure is a 25.2 percent annual rise, according to the Vietnam Association for Seafood Export and Processing.
Despite a rise in volume, Vietnamese shrimp exported to Japan fetched only 883 JPY per kilo. This is lower than shrimps from Thailand and Indonesia (944-950 JPY) but marginally higher than that of India and China (767 JPY).
Major exporters include: the Soc Trang Aquatic Products and General Import-Export Company, the Kim Anh Co. Ltd., the Ca Mau Frozen Seafood Processing Import-Export Corporation and the Can Tho Seafood Processing Importing-Exporting Enterprise.
