VIET NAM - Vietnamese seafood exporters are being urged to focus on improving the quality of exports to Australia.

The Vietnamese government said that Australia is currently imposing zero per cent on Vietnamese seafood exports, helping them to sharpen their products’ competitive edge on the market.

Last year, Viet Nam exported more than $30 million worth of tra catfish to Australia, an increase of 30 per cent on 2006.

At present tehre are 71 Vietnamese seafood businesses exporting to Australia including the Thuan Hung Co. Ltd., the An Giang Fisheries Import-Export Co. and the Vinh Hoan Co. Ltd., which are Viet Nam's leading tra and basa catfish exporters.
