Two New ISA Outbreaks In Chile

CHILE - The Chilean fisheries authority Sernapesca has reported two new cases of Infectious Salmon Anaemia (ISA).

The report comes in the National Marine Fisheries Service latest list of farms positive for ISA virus.

The two farms are in the Los Lagos and Aysen regions and are part of the Acuimag and Acuinova companies.

Sernapesca said the farms were under observation and the virus was detected by RT-PCR techniques but in neither case was nasal mucus associated with mortality or Infectious Salmon Anemia detected.

The companies have harvested the infected fish.
