Salmonids Health Biosecurity +3 more

NORWAY - There is strong suspicion of Pancreas Disease (PD) at a site in Nry municipality in Nord-Trndelag.

Results from routine samples taken from the salmon farm shows that it is probably an infection of PD in the locality Skrubbholmen in Nærøy municipality.

The site is run by Mid Norwegian Aquaculture in collaboration with Bjørøya Fisheries.

The Food Safety Authority will conduct further sampling. If the suspicion is confirmed and there is no suspicion of PD in neighboring plants, the infected locality will be required to be emptied as quickly as possible. This is consistent with the current strategy for PD control.
