The department of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs has set regulations on fishing for redfish, inline with International Council for marine research (ICES), in the statistical area I and II outside the jurisdiction of any state in 2013.

It is prohibited to fish for redfish in the first half of 2013 and in the period from and including 1 July to 31 December 2013, vessels from member states of the NEAFC will have a total quota of 19,500 tonnes.

Only vessels that are entitled to participate in the fishery this year, will participate in 2013.
