Norwegian Salmon Exports Rise

NORWAY - Exports of salmon from Norway reached 13.9 billion NOK in the first half of this year - an increase of 3.2 billion NOK compared to first half of 2009.

Statistics from the Norwegian Seafood Export Council show that the average salmon price the first half year in 2010 was NOK 36.15 compared to NOK 31.70 in 2009.

The volume exported was 279,000 tonnes this year compared to 255,000 tonnes last year.

France and Poland are the main importers of Norwegian salmon.
